Terms of service for Otticos

Last updated March 13, 2026. These terms describe the core rules for using Otticos as a rent and property relationship platform.

Eligibility and organization authority

Otticos is business software for rent operations, property workflow, and related communications provided by Temp and Major Inc.. You may use the service only if you can form a binding agreement and, when acting for an organization, have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Workspace owners and administrators are responsible for who they invite, what permissions they grant, and whether their organization is allowed to use Otticos for the workflows it chooses to run.

Accounts, credentials, and security

Users must provide accurate information, maintain the confidentiality of their credentials, and promptly notify Otticos if they suspect unauthorized access, compromised accounts, or other security issues.

You may not share accounts in a way that defeats auditability or role-based access controls.

Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

You may not use Otticos for fraud, harassment, unlawful discrimination, unauthorized surveillance, malware distribution, scraping that bypasses product controls, or attempts to defeat security, rate limits, or access restrictions.

You are responsible for using the platform in compliance with housing, privacy, payments, communications, employment, screening, and consumer-protection laws that apply to your workflow.

Customer data, listings, and user content

You keep responsibility for the information, documents, messages, listings, and application content you or your organization submit to Otticos. You grant Otticos the rights reasonably needed to host, process, transmit, secure, and display that content in order to operate the service.

If you publish rental listings or collect applications through Otticos, you are responsible for the accuracy of the listing, the legality of your screening process, required notices and disclosures, and any decision you make about an applicant.

Rental applications, fair housing, and compliance boundaries

Otticos provides workflow tools and recordkeeping for rental operations. Otticos is not your landlord, property manager, broker, insurer, bank, background-screening agency, or legal advisor, and we do not make tenancy decisions for you.

Users who advertise housing or review applicants remain responsible for fair-housing compliance, objective screening criteria, accommodation handling, adverse-action obligations where applicable, and any jurisdiction-specific landlord-tenant rules.

Investor financing inquiries and compliance boundaries

Otticos may offer internal workspace tooling for business-purpose financing requests tied to non-owner-occupied investment property, including DSCR rental, fix-and-flip, bridge, or new-construction scenarios.

Those workflows are intended for business or commercial-purpose requests only. Do not use them for owner-occupied, consumer-purpose, or household-credit requests, and Otticos is not a mortgage lender, broker, RESPA compliance advisor, or legal advisor.

Any organization that reviews those requests remains responsible for licensing, disclosures, fair-lending analysis, privacy handling, vendor oversight, and any other compliance obligations that apply to its financing activity.

Payments, payouts, and Stripe services

Some Otticos features rely on third-party providers such as Stripe for payment processing and Stripe Connect onboarding. Those providers may require separate terms, account review, verification steps, payout holds, reversals, fees, or availability constraints.

Otticos is not responsible for bank delays, processor downtime, payment disputes, chargebacks, reversals, or provider decisions to delay, block, review, or terminate payment capabilities. Connected-account users remain responsible for information they provide to Stripe and for compliance required to receive payouts.

Communications and consent

Otticos may send transactional emails or other service communications related to authentication, account administration, product updates, security events, rental applications, payment status, or other legitimate operational needs.

If you use Otticos to contact tenants, applicants, vendors, or payment helpers, you are responsible for obtaining any consent or legal basis required for those communications.

Third-party services and availability

Some features rely on third-party infrastructure such as hosting, authentication, messaging, calling, and monitoring providers. Otticos may update the platform, refine features, or disable risky workflows when security, legal, or operational conditions require it.

Features behind security flags or provider adapters may not be active in every environment and may change as the product evolves.

Suspension and termination

Otticos may suspend or limit access if we believe an account, organization, or workflow creates security, fraud, abuse, compliance, or legal risk, or if continued access could harm other users or the platform.

You may stop using the service at any time, but records already created inside the service may persist as described in the privacy policy and as required for legal or operational reasons.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Otticos is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every legal, accounting, screening, payments, or housing workflow.

To the extent permitted by law, Otticos will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from use of the service or reliance on third-party providers.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Otticos evolves or legal requirements change. When we do, we will update the date on this page and may provide additional notice when the change is material. Legal notices for Otticos may be sent to Temp and Major Inc., 604 W 60th Street, Chicago, IL 60621.
